On Friday, February 28, 2025, from 12 noon–1:00 ET, the Penn State Center for Agricultural and Shale Law, alongside the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s (PDA) Agricultural Business Development Center (ABDC), will present the next webinar in the Understanding Agricultural Law educational series:

“Understanding the Basics of Pesticide Drift”

Pesticide drift, sometimes referred to as chemical drift, occurs when pesticides migrate through the air or by other means to an unintended location. This inadvertent chemical exposure can have a negative impact on crops, the environment, and people with chemical sensitivities. Pesticide drift presents liability exposure issues for producers and financial recovery issues by those affected. Neighboring organic farms are especially at risk with limited opportunities for compensation.
This webinar will discuss the legal risks associated with pesticide use and provide an overview of organic regulations, with a focus on the impact of drift.
