On May 4, 2024, from 9:30am–3:00pm (ET), Penn State Extension will present “Succession Planning for Forest Landowners” at the Dauphin County Extension in Dauphin, PA. Center Staff Attorney Brook Duer will present as part of the program.

From the event website:

Poorly planned succession or land transition can strain family relationships and finances, while also contributing to high-grading, fragmented forests, and environmental damage. It is incumbent upon every forest owner to responsibly engage in succession planning with future generations, despite its inherent challenges.

Come and join us for a day packed with presentations, learning sessions, and networking opportunities alongside fellow professionals!

This workshop strongly encourages participants to register in groups of at least two, including both current owners and future owners, for a full-day session on succession planning. Engage in discussions with forestry and legal professionals.

Lunch will be provided, and please remember to bring appropriate footwear and attire for a brief forest path walk.

Space is limited – preregistration is required.
