On Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 12 noon – 1 pm EST Penn State Law’s Center for Agricultural and Shale Law will be conducting a webinar titled as part of our Quarterly Dairy Industry Legal Update series.

This webinar is the second in a quarterly series of such webinars to be held at the conclusion of each calendar quarter.  This webinar will cover the 4th quarter of calendar year 2020.  Dates established so far for additional installments in the series are April 27 and July 27, 2021.

Each webinar in the series provides a 30-minute round-up of the past quarter’s legal and regulatory developments impacting the dairy industry and a 30-minute focused topic of interest to dairy producers and professionals.  The round-up will examine recent developments in pricing and income support programs, dairy risk management, legislative and regulatory reform, new legislation, workforce legal issues, international trade disputes, animal health and welfare regulation, and litigation in state and federal courts which impact the dairy sector.

The focused topic for the January 26, 2020 webinar will be a discussion of international trade agreement terms and on-going trade disputes impacting the dairy industry in the United States with Becky Rasdall, Vice-President of Trade Policy and International Affairs, International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA).  In December, the United States Trade Representative initiated the first enforcement action under the USMCA with Canada and we will lay out the legal issues involved, as well as discuss international trade agreement dairy terms applicable to Mexico, China, the UK and the EU.

Slides from this presentation can be found here.
