On February 28, 2023, Center staff attorney Jackie Schweichler will join Penn State Extension at their in-person workshop, “Herbicide Drift Perspectives from the Vineyard.” Jackie will speak alongside Brittany Clark, PA Department of Agriculture, for a presentation entitled, “Laws and Regulatory Perspectives Regarding Off-Target Pesticide Movement.”

A description of the program from the Penn State Extension page is as follows:

“During Herbicide Drift Perspectives from the Vineyard, learn about current research on herbicide damage in vineyards, and learn about herbicide use/choices from industry, academic, and regulatory representatives with various areas of specialization. Phenoxy herbicides control weeds in many agricultural and plant management industries. While effective for weed management, some herbicide chemistries can be prone to moving off-target to damage sensitive plants in surrounding landscapes and commercial production situations.”
