On Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 pm ET, the Center for Agricultural and Shale Law, alongside Penn State Extension and sponsored by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry through funding from the U.S. Department of Labor, will present the seventh agricultural law webinar in the AgWorks program:
Webinar No. 7. Special Laws for Seasonal or Temporary Workers
Pennsylvania employers who hire seasonal or temporary agricultural workers must comply with both the Pennsylvania Seasonal Farm Labor Act and the federal Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act. This webinar provides a practical overview of how these laws work together, with a focus on wage and hour requirements, employer-provided housing permitting and inspection standards, transportation requirements, and farm labor contractor obligations.
Participants will also examine real-world case examples that illustrate how these regulations apply across a range of agricultural settings. During an optional second hour, participants may ask legal questions and share examples for discussion with the attorneys. Please note: The Ag Law Center provides educational support and resources only and does not offer legal representation.
